Mini Containers

Maximum Storage. Minimum Footprint.

Mini Containers are engineered to maximise secure storage capacity where available deck space is at a premium.

Designed to DNV-ST-E271 / ISO 10855 standards, they provide a fully enclosed offshore storage solution within a compact footprint, allowing multiple units to be positioned in locations where conventional offshore containers would be impractical.

Available as both the Standard Mini Container and the taller Sky Box Mini Container, the range provides customers with a choice of internal storage volume while retaining the same efficient deck footprint.

Choosing the Right Configuration

Why Mini Containers?

Offshore deck space is one of the most valuable resources available during construction, drilling and production operations.

Mini Containers allow operators to introduce secure enclosed storage into areas that cannot accommodate conventional offshore containers, significantly increasing protected storage capacity without increasing the overall deck footprint.

Their full standing height also improves accessibility, allowing personnel to organise, inspect and retrieve equipment more efficiently while reducing the manual handling associated with lower-profile storage systems.

Engineered Around Modern Offshore Logistics

Today's offshore projects increasingly rely on palletised cargo to improve mobilisation efficiency, inventory control and manual handling.

Mini Containers have been engineered to protect and transport palletised materials whilst making the most efficient use of their available internal volume.

Typical cargo includes:
• Palletised project consumables
• Bagged consumables
• Weather-sensitive project materials
• Project tooling
• Mechanical and electrical spares
• Instrumentation packages
• High-value maintenance equipment

By combining compact external dimensions with generous internal storage capacity, the Mini Container range provides an efficient solution for transporting and organising equipment throughout the project lifecycle.

Engineered Beyond the Product

At Simmonds Equipment, we design offshore equipment with the complete logistics chain in mind—not simply the finished product.

Mini Containers have been engineered to support efficient international mobilisation by making productive use of available shipping volume. When transported by containerised freight, the units can be secured within larger offshore containers, reducing freight costs while protecting the equipment throughout international transit.

This engineering philosophy extends across our entire product range, where shipping configurations are developed to maximise container utilisation, minimise cargo handling and reduce total landed cost.

Choosing the Sky Box

Some projects require greater internal storage volume than a standard Mini Container can provide.

The Sky Box Mini Container retains the same compact footprint while significantly increasing internal storage capacity, making it particularly suitable for palletised project materials, bagged consumables, weather-sensitive cargo and taller equipment requiring structural protection. Despite its increased capacity, the Sky Box continues to follow the same logistics philosophy as the standard Mini Container by supporting efficient international transportation before deployment offshore.
