Half Height Containers
One Container. One Work Package. One Logistics Chain.
Half Height Containers provide an efficient logistics platform for transporting, organising and deploying offshore construction equipment throughout the project lifecycle.
Combining DNV-ST-E271 / ISO 10855 offshore lifting certification with CSC approval for international container transport, the same container can remain with its allocated equipment from fabrication through to offshore installation, reducing unnecessary cargo handling while improving project efficiency.
Available in both 10' and 20' configurations with either Forklift Removable Side Doors or Swing Door access, the Simmonds Equipment Half Height Container range allows contractors to select the configuration best suited to their project requirements.

Why Half Height Containers?
Offshore construction projects involve thousands of individual components arriving from multiple manufacturers, fabrication facilities and specialist suppliers.
Rather than transporting equipment as individual items, contractors assemble complete work packages within dedicated Half Height Containers before mobilisation.
Each container becomes a self-contained logistics package, keeping all related equipment together throughout fabrication, international transportation, shore base operations and offshore deployment.
The result is improved organisation, reduced cargo handling and faster mobilisation, while giving offshore teams immediate access to complete work packages when required.
Why Offshore Construction Contractors Choose Half Height Containers
Construction campaigns demand more than transporting equipment, they require work packages to remain organised throughout every stage of the project.
By allocating equipment to dedicated Half Height Containers, contractors create clearly defined project packages that simplify mobilisation, improve vessel deck organisation and reduce the time spent locating, handling and deploying equipment offshore.
This work package philosophy has made Half Height Containers one of the most widely adopted logistics solutions for offshore construction campaigns worldwide.
Retaining the ISO Footprint
Unlike conventional offshore cargo baskets, Half Height Containers retain a full ISO corner casting arrangement whilst incorporating certified offshore lifting pad eyes.
This unique combination allows the containers to move seamlessly between international container transport, road haulage, shore base operations and offshore lifting without changing transport platforms.
The ISO footprint also allows loaded containers to be securely stacked and connected using standard ISO twist locks, improving transport efficiency, reducing truck movements and creating organised deck layouts onboard Offshore Construction Vessels throughout the project.
One Container. One Journey.
Every Half Height Container is engineered around the way offshore construction equipment moves through a project.
Equipment is assembled into dedicated work packages during fabrication, transported by road and container vessel, staged through the shore base and finally deployed offshore without unnecessary cargo transfers between transport systems.
Keeping equipment within the same certified container throughout this journey improves organisation, reduces handling operations and lowers the risk of cargo damage during mobilisation.
