MACHINERY TECHNOLOGIES

The following machinery technologies are supplied across both offshore and industrial markets, with every package engineered to suit the operational environment, transportation philosophy and project-specific certification requirements.

PROJECT DELIVERY

Flexible Project Delivery

Every machinery package is different.

Some clients require only a certified transport frame, while others require a fully integrated package complete with piping, electrical systems, controls and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).

Rather than forcing every project through a single manufacturing model, Simmonds Equipment develops the most efficient execution strategy using trusted manufacturing, engineering and integration partners worldwide.

Structural Equipment Frames

Certified transportable equipment frames and structural skids supplied ready for customer equipment installation.

Mechanical Package Assembly

Packages supplied complete with structural steelwork, pipe supports, access platforms, weather protection, HVAC (where required) and ancillary mechanical systems.

Customer Equipment Integration

Customer-supplied compressors, pumps, generators, hydraulic equipment and process machinery integrated using specialist engineering partners, allowing customer participation throughout the Factory Acceptance Testing process.

Complete Turnkey Packages

Fully engineered, integrated, tested and commissioned machinery packages delivered ready for installation and connection on site.

Regional integration and Factory Acceptance Testing can also be undertaken close to the final project destination, allowing customer participation while reducing logistics costs and project schedules.

GLOBAL TRANSPORT & DEPLOYMENT

One of the greatest advantages of modular machinery packages is not simply factory integration—it is the ability to transport, deploy and relocate equipment anywhere in the world quickly and economically.

Where practical, Simmonds Equipment engineers machinery packages within CSC-certified ISO transportable equipment frames and enclosures, allowing equipment to move through established global shipping, road and rail networks using standard freight infrastructure.

Every package is engineered around the customer’s equipment, transportation strategy and operational requirements. Solutions may be developed as compact equipment skids where deck footprint is critical, standard ISO transportable units or taller 9’6” High Cube transportable enclosures where additional internal equipment clearance is required, ensuring the optimum balance between operational performance, transportation efficiency and future redeployment.

Commercial Benefits

• Reduced mobilisation costs through standard liner shipping rather than out-of-gauge freight.

• Faster international deployment using established global container shipping networks.

• Reduced project logistics complexity.

• Standard handling at ports worldwide using ISO container infrastructure.

• Simple onward transportation using standard ISO skeletal trailers and rail wagons.

• Truck-mountable using standard ISO twistlock systems.

• Lower lifting and handling costs through ISO corner castings.

• Easily redeployed between projects throughout the equipment lifecycle.

• Higher residual asset value through internationally recognised transport certification.

Where offshore deployment is required, packages can also be engineered to DNV 2.7-1 or DNV 2.7-3 standards where project specifications require certified offshore lifting.

REMOTE ACCESS & SPECIALIST DEPLOYMENT

Many industrial and energy projects are located far beyond conventional road infrastructure, requiring machinery packages to be transported by fixed-wing aircraft, helicopter, landing craft or specialist off-road vehicles.

Simmonds Equipment engineers machinery packages with deployment strategy considered from the earliest stages of design, ensuring equipment can be transported safely and efficiently to remote operating locations while maintaining structural integrity and operational functionality.

Where project logistics require, machinery packages can be engineered as modular assemblies capable of being transported separately before final assembly on site, reducing transportation constraints without compromising operational performance.

Our experience includes projects supporting offshore platforms, remote mining operations, renewable energy developments, exploration camps, isolated industrial facilities and emergency infrastructure where conventional transportation methods are either impractical or unavailable.

Typical deployment considerations include:

• Helicopter transportable modules
• Air transport compatible equipment
• Landing craft deployment
• Remote mining operations
• Temporary infrastructure projects
• Exploration and drilling camps
• Disaster recovery and emergency response
• Modular assembly for restricted access locations

Every project is engineered to balance operational requirements with the realities of transporting equipment safely, efficiently and economically to some of the world's most challenging environments.

OEM INDEPENDENT INTEGRATION

Simmonds Equipment believes every project should be engineered around the customer's preferred equipment rather than limiting solutions to a single manufacturer's product range.

Working alongside leading OEM manufacturers, EPC contractors and specialist engineering partners, we integrate customer-selected mechanical equipment into fully engineered transportable packages designed to meet project-specific operational, transportation and certification requirements.

This independent approach allows clients to maintain preferred equipment specifications, existing maintenance philosophies and global spare parts strategies while benefiting from purpose-engineered structural, mechanical and transportation solutions.

Whether integrating compressors, pumps, generators, hydraulic systems, HVAC equipment or specialist process machinery, our focus remains the successful engineering and delivery of the complete package rather than promoting any particular equipment manufacturer.

This flexibility enables Simmonds Equipment to support both new-build projects and equipment upgrades, extending the operational life of existing assets while reducing project costs and simplifying long-term maintenance strategies.

why simmonds equipment?

Engineering & Manufacturing Capability

Every machinery package begins with an understanding of the customer’s process, equipment, operating environment and deployment strategy.

Working alongside OEM equipment manufacturers, EPC contractors and specialist integration partners, Simmonds Equipment develops modular mechanical systems that simplify transportation, reduce installation time and improve long-term maintainability.

Packages can be engineered to project-specific international standards including CSC, DNV 2.7-1, DNV 2.7-2 and DNV 2.7-3 where required. Our engineering team works with clients to determine the most appropriate certification route based on the equipment, lifting requirements, transport philosophy and project schedule, ensuring unnecessary certification costs and programme delays are avoided where alternative internationally recognised standards provide a more practical and commercially efficient solution.

Whether supplying a certified equipment frame, a CSC-certified transportable enclosure or a fully integrated machinery package, our objective remains the same: to deliver engineered solutions that minimise mobilisation costs, simplify global deployment, reduce project risk and maximise the long-term value of our customers’ assets.
